Our Journey to Sturgis 2015

August 26th, 2015

It’s been a couple weeks now since we’ve returned from the 75th annual Sturgis bike rally. Wow, there were a lot of people there. We did things a bit differently this year. Rather than taking our truck & trailer and setting up as a vendor, we took a few feature bikes in a Ram Promaster van, sponsored to us by the good people at RAM. Big thanks to RAM. Quality products. Quality people. Made in USA. Here is a peak into our journey.

Once the van was delivered, we had 1 day to slap some graphics on it and get it suited up for the trip. Our KP Supply wheel chucks were a great way to secure the bikes in the back of the van as the wheel chucks cam over on the front wheel and have a built-in tie down bar on the front of the chuck.

The Promaster was perfect for carrying 3 bikes and the gear we needed for the 1-1/2 week adventure. We brought our bikes, our luggage, helmets, chairs, our spare Channellock tool kit and an ice chest.

We’d also like to thank Love’s Travel Stops for sponsoring our fuel. Love’s has always been a favorite of mine while traveling. I know I can count on competitive fuel prices, a good variety of snacks, clean rest rooms and a well lit facility at night.

We arrive at Sturgis and unload. Sunday night we head over to the Michael Licther Naked Truth event. Michael curates a wonderful display of motorcycles each year at the Buffalo Chip and this year’s bikes were amazing. There are really talented builders in our industry.  Read the rest of this entry »

F3 In Shanghai, Featured on

March 24th, 2015

Where does inspiration come from? It’s all around us. What encourages someone to push the boundries of what is the norm? I continually look for those opportunities.

A few years ago, a very special customer walked into my life who had a vision of a bike that did not fit the norm. I still remember him describing to me his vision for his bike.

He wanted something all aluminum with simple elegant lines, similar to the Porsche Speedster that James Dean drove. He also wanted a touch of Art Deco represented in the bike. I remember telling him, “to do this properly, we’ll need to machine the tanks and fenders”… and to my amazement he said, “well let’s do it then.”

Together we shot ideas back and forth. The creative brainstorming was invigorating with the possibilities of creating a truly unique and timeless bike.
